Beyond Coffee: Tim Middleton

Ben: What is a short story of your background? Where did you grow up? Go to college? What is your day to day job?

Tim: I Grew up in Pleasant Hill and  went to Sacramento State for college. My day job is Screen printing and freelance graphic designer. I began to get into art through drawing all the time when growing up, and continuing to pursue art in college via graphic design program. And taking misc. art classes.

Ben: How did you begin to get into art? Who taught you?

Tim: I always have been into graphic design that combines maybe an unconventional process.I have used a more hands on approach, combined with good typography or different structural elements and composition. I really appreciate design that involves some form of illustration. I have always loved the quote,“Design is so simple that's why it's so complicated" - Paul Rand.

Ben: Where are you hoping to be in the next couple years with graphic design?

Tim: I hope to be continuing in a niche freelance graphic design, printing shirts, also offering more options when it comes to apparel. I would also hope to grow my own brand Outback Design Co. as an outdoor adventure supply and soft goods company.
